Frederick County Indoor Championships

BOYS

GIRLS

Thomas Johnson High School girls won their first ever Frederick County Indoor Championship title by edging Frederick 93 to 87.5, and Linganore won the boys team championship 99 to 92 over Thomas Johnson.

Catoctin senior Kathy Messner was the individual star of the meet with three wins, including meet records in the high jump (5-8) and the 300 meters (41.0) to go with her 55 meter score (7.2).

TJ's victory was powered by Jennifer Ford's 1600-3200 double (5:16.7 and 11:29.7, both meet records) and a meet record 1600 meter relay (4:11.8). Other TJ winners were Lisa Lushbaugh in the 500 (1:21.6) and Megan Ellis in the shot put (34' 6.25). Runner up Frederick combined Mardy Przywarty's veteran savvy with a new batch of young runners to win the 55 Hurdles (8.5) and the 800 Meter Relay (1:51.4).

Linganore boys built their victory on Erik Necciai (2:08.3), Dan Blizzard (8.1), the 800 Meter Relay (1:37.1 meet record), and the 3200 Meter Relay (8:42.8). Runner up Thomas Johnson got doubles from Russell Haines (37.4 and 1:10.1) and Shawn Day (4:35.4 and 10:17.4) along with a record 3:39.7 1600 Meter Relay.

Other meet records included the Linganore girls' 3200 Meter Relay (10:01.5) and Natalie Dye's pole vault (8' 6).
