An assortment of the nearly 20-person field had the lead at one time or another through fairly casual 3:06-6:09-9:07 first three kilometer points. After the 4K point at 12:06 (about 73 second per lap thus far) it was the Stanford duo of Daniel Pharris and Jesse Thomas who took off with 1500 winner Andy Powell (who is Stanford bound also!). Powell finished strongest to take the win by two meters over next year's teammate Pharris 14:51.81-14:52.11. Stanford's Gabe Jennings pulled off the same 1500-5000 double last year.
