1999 Junior Nationals

Men's High Jump

Pictures and commentary by Doug Speck

Robert Jordan of Millville HS in New Jersey continued a great close to the championship portion of his season, with at least a month of straight 7-02 clearances or higher. After a 7- 03.75 win the previous week at the National Scholastic Outdoor affair in North Carolina, Jordan here left Brandon Campbell, a Cal State Fullerton frosh from Missouri, behind at 7-00.5, then steadily moved the bar up to 7-04.25, which he cleared. After good attempts at a Meet Record equalling 7-05.25 Kevin Clements (1989) Jordan retired from the competition with the equal #8 U.S. High-Schooler in history with his winning best.
