Nicole Blood, cont.

At first I was thinking. She's making a move too early, she'll get tired. But I realized towards the end of that lap that she was staying strong and wasn't getting any closer so I better make a move. It was the last lap and I kept telling myself that there was still time, let’s go. I started kicking all out and saw myself gaining some ground. The crowd started getting really loud and I came up to Chock's side with 100m to go. I thought I probably had it but she fought back.

That last straight away, we both gave it everything we had. I just leaned forward, pushed my legs and pumped my arms as hard as I could. That was one of the best feelings I've ever had when I crossed the finish line. The race was so exciting and I got a 4 second PR, it was just awesome.

My family and I have the race on video so we watch it from time to time to get pumped before big meets. It was one of my best races and I'll never forget it.
