Sat. Invitationals.

Sun. Easy runs ranging from a few easy miles for some of our runners, to a 6 miler for others. We tell the runners to go to a park with other teammates.

* The following week is similar, with a few changes. One would be to run slightly longer intervals at the same pace. The third week of the cycle will be similar, but we will do the 1000m workout, using that to set up the next cycle for every runner on the team. Groups may change from cycle to cycle. We also can bump a kid up or down anytime.

* The cycles will lead us up to our championship meets, and will dictate what pace each athlete will be running throughout the season. At the end of the season, we back off our distance a little, and run 3-4 sets of 1000m instead of 4-5.

Team building:

* we have pasta parties during the season.

* we have several overnight trips, which is a real good way to get the team closer.

* we occasionally do some fund raising together.

* team meetings when needed.

* newsletter after each meet.

* e-mails to each athlete.

* lot's of publicity for the team. Not just our top athletes.

How do we transform a group of talented indiv into a team:

* set team goals before the season.
