Penn Relays 2000

April 27-29, 2000 at Franklin Field, Philadelphia PA

For 105 years, the Penn Relays Carnival has been achieving its goal of providing "the best competition for the greatest number of participants of all levels, ages and abilities."   In the past 10 years alone, more than 100,000 athletes from 8 to 80 have competed at Penn.  As the Carnival enters a third century in operation, this year's meet will offer 425 races in 35 hours before crowds of 40,000 or more.  DyeStat covers the High School portion of the Carnival.

The Jamaican challenge

Jamaica sends a formidable delegation to Penn every year.  When their relay teams get going, Franklin Field rocks with the cheers of a 5,000-strong following of Jamaican fans, all waving green and gold flags.  If the recent Jamaican national championships are any guide, the Jamaicans will have plenty to cheer for this year. Click for more.
