Edward Williams is "Coach Eddie" at Bethel High School in Hampton VA since 1992. This is the same high school he attended and ran track until he graduated in 1979. He attended the Virginia Military Institute where he lettered in track and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He is currently a lead test engineer at Northrup Grumman Shipyard in Newport News Virginia. He also is a 2006 graduate of Cambridge College with a masters of Management.
Coach Eddie and his wife, Jackie, are proud parents of three children. In 2004 Coach Eddie received the Zeta Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Father of the Year award. And in 2005, Coach Eddie and his wife were recognized for their work with children in the community. In 2006 Coach Eddie was selected as Indoor Coach of the Year by Milestat.com.
Coach Eddie has coached many accomplished track athletes including, Francena McCorory who set a US record for the 400m at 51.93 at the Nike Indoor Meet, March 2006. |
