The event title was decided by each athlete's second-best
jump as Idaho's Jarrette Layton and California's Michael Strong
each posted meet bests of 21-10.75. Tad Schoedel, a fine 800m talent,
place third.

with dad/coach Larren Bailey indicating the national indoor record
is under attack!

Zack Lloyd has been among the nation's hottest
throwers the last few month's, with his big 62-3.25 heave here far
enough to claim the title! Three putters eclipsed the 60-foot barrier!

Michaela Wallerstedt comes through with a huge toss,
hurling the shot 45-01.5 en route to victory. Four girls went at
least 40 feet in this one, giving possibly the most solid depth
among female field eventers.
