With five runners alternating 200-meter segments, and each running eight times (5x8x200m), the near 5-mile challenge was mastered in new record time on 19:04.8 by West Torrance HS runners, taking down the tough 1999 record of 19:05.3 by a talent-laden Gahr HS group that went on to win a CIF-SS team title that Spring! Congratulations to new record- holders Louis Castro, James Hyun, Steven DeCastro, Avo Nezarian, and Scott Huffman!
