 Greenhill freshman Chelsey Sveinsson showed no signs of fatigue from her NIN 800 & Freshman Mile wins, taking it out in 61.1 and bringing it home in US#1 2:08.46 for 800 gold

G-LJ final - Ozen soph A’Lexus Brannon was the MVP at last week’s UTSA Relays with wins in the 100 hurdles and a huge PR of 21-0.5 nwi, the US#18 all-time mark under all wind conditions

B-SP final - Jersey Village sr Michael Barbas is the class of the field, coming off a huge 66-3 to claim gold at Nike Indoor Nationals (NIN)

Girls 100 prelims - Clear Brook sr Erica Alexander, the 5A state 2006 champ (11.46) and 2007 400 champ, will be challenged by a strong field including Hightower soph Franchelle Hill (11.69 seed), Lancaster sr Teegan Hill (11.70) and 2007 winner Wheatley sr Dominique Duncan

G-400 prelims - Christway Academy freshman Nia Fluker won the 800 last year (that’s right, 2:13.11 as an 8th grader!) and finished 7th in the 400 at last week’s NSIC

G-1600 prelims - Greenhill fr Chelsey Sveinsson was a star at NIN, capturing the Freshman mile in 4:49.37 (#8 all-time US freshman indoors & out) and doubling back to win the elite 800 in 2:11.52

G-300H prelims - is loaded, with Saginaw jr Destiny Lumas (43.17 seed), Judson jr Christina Holland (43.77), Lancaster jr Danielle Hill (43.79), and Lancaster sr Ashley Starks (43.80).

B-100 prelims - another deep line-up, with 5A state runner-up Hightower sr Isaiah Sweeney, a member of Team USA in the World Youth Games last summer, having plenty of competition including DeSoto sr Cyrus Gray (10.53 seed), Duncanville jr Josh Harris (10.30), Tyler sr Levi Bipialaka (10.46), Westfield sr Victor White (10.35) and more

B-400 prelims - Starkville (MS) jr Tavarius Tate brings his 48.10 seed time to Texas, while Robert Simmons, US#1 returnee from 2007, bypasses this event

B-300H prelims
- Westfield sr Jamele Mason is the top TX returnee & top dog here with a 37.12 seed time

Boys & Girls relay prelims - are stacked, with many of the traditional sprint powers lining up. Hitting the DyeStat Elite national standard is no guarantee of even making the finals here! Expect more than one US#1 mark after the finals, and maybe before.
