Cy Falls sr Blake Shaw dropped his US leading 800 time down to 1:49.41, a new PR for the 2007 World Youth Games 1500 finalist.

According to Jack Shepard of Track & Field News, this 1:49.41 on 3/22 for Blake Shaw is only the 2nd sub-1:50 clocking prior to April 1. The other mark is 1:49.94 by Nectaly Barbosa on 3/17 last year so Shaw is the fastest ever prior to April 1.
