The 56th Annual TSU Relays is the 5th largest track and field meet in the country, where some of the nation’s top high school, college, university and professional athletes will meet in competition. The Relays are scheduled for March 23 - 24, 2007 at Texas Southern’s Alexander Durley Sports Complex, featuring its Mondo track, one of the best running surfaces in the country.

The Eisenhower 4x200 team of soph Jarrick Wright, sr Jacques Robinson, jr Kenneth Johnson, and sr Brandon Myers.

 

 

Day 2 Highlights:

  • Eisenhower boys rule the sprint relays in tough winds, 41.70 and 1:26.63
  • Relative unknown Galveston Ball jr Terrell McNeil over US#3 100 returnee Eisenhower sr Brandon Myers, 10.73 to 10.86 into 3.8 headwind
  • Cinco Ranch sr Michael Healey soars over 6-10 HJ, getting back on track after hamstring problem
  • Wheatley jr Dominique Duncan motors 11.99 into a 3.8 headwind for 100 gold
  • Clear Brook jr Erica Alexander, US#6 100 and US#7 200 returnee, sweeps the 200 (24.44 into 8.2 headwind) and 400 (54.12)
  • Christway Academy 8th grader Nia Fluker scores impressive 800 win in 2:13.11, followed by 56.26 for 4th in the 400
  • 2006 US#1 April Williams hurdles 14.49 (-4.4w)
  • Lancaster jr Ashley Starks turns back a strong 300 hurdle field in 43.38
  • Skyline girls top the 4x100 final, clocking 46.68 (Lancaster 46.97, 6 others under Dyestat Elite 48.20)
  • Lancaster girls take 4x200 in 1:37.76 (12 others under Dyestat Elite 1:43) and 4x400 in 3:45.19 (Marshall 3:48.56)

  • Jersey Village jr Michael Barbas earns shot put gold, 57-5.5
  • Clear Brook jr Erica Alexander, the US#6 returnee in the 100, fastest 400 heat winner in 54.99
  • Lancaster girls quickest in 4x200 heats with 1:39.30 (9 others under Dyestat Elite 1:43.00) and 4x400 with 3:47.32
  • Lamar (Houston) girls win Sprint Medley in 4:09.02
  • Marshall sr Brittani Carter clears 5-8 for girls high jump honors
  • Elsik jr LaRoya Johnson, #4 US returnee, claims girls long jump gold with 19-3 (+1.9)
