DyeStat Cross Country 2000

Pennsylvania Preview

by Aaron Rich and Don Rich

The first thing you should know about this XC preview for Pennsylvania is that it is just for fun. They don't give medals for talk. Much of the information comes from the experts in Pennsylvania running. That's right, you. The athletes.

Changing of the guard. Dan Coval leaves after winning four consecutive 3200 and two consecutive XC titles, and opens the top spot to future stars like Sean Cavanaugh, Mount Lebanon. Some of it comes from coaches in the know. And just a bit of it comes from our own observations, having raced in (Aaron) or watched (Don) almost 100 cross country meets over the past six years. During that time we have watched the front of the pack to the back. And we have watched back of the packers become the top kids on their teams. And through it all, we have learned two things about what is probably the most honest sport in the world. First. Those that put in the work will be rewarded.

And second. Those who want it more will win before those who don't.

So here it is. Your ideas on which individuals and teams will make the top of the podium on the first Saturday in November at Bucknell University. We'll roll out a new one every few days. First, AAA Boys.

Detailed Predictions

AAA Boys - AA Boys - AAA Girls - AA Girls
