An observor wrote: "She had a big smile on her face as she came down the stretch. It was truly a dominating performance from a truly amazing athlete."   • IL Palatine Inv - Invading Davidson Hilliard OH swept the team titles a week after hosting the Meet of Champions. Davidson Boys 48 (3-6-8-14-17) and Girls 45 (4-5-8-10-18). Sam Romanoski, Lake Zurich IL jr 15:06 3.1m led a gang of boys under 16 minutes. Jean Marinangeli, Buffalo Grove IL sr 15:06 2.5m won the girls race.
  • IN Culver Academy Inv - Michelle Rafferty and Nef Ariai, winners of the Meet of Champions at Hilliard OH last week, repeated at the Culver meet. Rafferty, Carmel, 14:!5 4k outkicked Tiffany Redlarczyk, Lake Central by 5 seconds. Ariai, Lawrence North 15:41 (distance unknown) was 21 seconds better than Nick Kruse, Lake Central. Carmel swept the team titles, with the girls team (46 pts) beating previous Indiana 2nd and 1st ranked teams Chesterton 97 and Valparaiso 101.
  • KS Weekly Report by Tony Bozarth - David Williams, Wichita West 16:34 edges Matt Swedlund, Topeka Washburn Rural, by a half second. Erin Mortimer, Riley County, beats Trish Nickoley, Shawnee Heights. Details
  • MD Bull Run Inv - Runners cope with hot day and the killer Hereford HS hills. In one of the rare sub-19 tours over Hereford's 3-mile course, Tenke Zoltani (left) 18:53 led Dulaney MD 110 to victory in the elite division. Zoltani missed Karen Pulliam's course record by only one second. C. Milton Wright MD 68 won the boys elite team title with ease, while, Ryan Blood, E. Pennsboro PA 16:14 ran the fastest time of the day. Blood won a see-saw battle with pre-race favorite Pat Bailey of CMW (16:15) in the last strides, with Shane Stroup 4th. Complete Results
  • MI Spartan Inv - Rockford MI girls 55, trouncing Colerain Cincinnati OH 117, Stevenson MI 118, and Clarkston MI 120. Nikki Bohnsack's 2nd place finish in 18:20 paced Rockford, with Shannon Stanley, Adams Rochester winning in 18:18. Big Rapids 98 edged Grand Ledge by 3 points in Division 1, while Andrew Bauer, Lahser Bloomfield Hills MI had the fastest time of the day, 15:47, running in Divisions 2-3-4. Details

  • MT Mountain West Classic - Biggest meet in Montana. Kalispell freshman star Zoe Nelson broke a course record for the third straight week, running 17:52 3m at the U. of Montana golf course. That was a second faster than the old record of Canadian star Emily Kroshus. US#2 Mead WA boys 44 (Kalispell 81), led by Jesse Fayant 15:03 in 2nd place. Kurt Michels gave Kalispell a sweep of individual honors by winning the boys race in 14:47. North Central WA girls 60 (Kalispell MT 67). Montana weekend

  • NY Suffolk Coaches Inv - Christian Brothers Academy NJ 23 (2-3-5-7-8) dominated Varsity B, with Brian Dalpiaz, Sayville 16:11 5k winning individual honors on a very hot, humid day. US#16 Bronxville NY girls won Varsity C with 40 points, and Northeast #6 Pearl River NY won Varsity B girls with 37 points. Details
  • OH Ohio Catholic Championships - US#21 St. Xavier Cincinnati 26 dominated with 5 of the top 11 and 7 out of 21, led by 1-2 Kyle Kowalski 16:35 and Ben Wietmarshen 16:38. Beaumont 92 won the girls race by 2 points over St. Joseph Academy, while St. Ursula Toledo fr Alli McMaster 18:30 was the individual winner by 2 seconds over Beaumont's Maggie Infeld. . Details
