Douglass-PG edged the Central girls 76-72.5 despite sr Lekisha Barnaby's sprint and hurdle double (7.1 and 8.4) and a sweep of the relays by Central. Douglass countered with sr Andrea Pressley's 300-500 double (42.4 and 1:20.3) and sr Joy Parker's 800 meter victory (2:29.2). La Plata jr Tianna Goldring continued her string of high jump victories (5-6) and Leonardtown sr Marsha Day joined Maryland's 10-foot club of girl pole vaulters. In boys competition, Duval romped over Queen Anne's, 83-49, behind sr Dwayne Vaughn's sprint double (6.4 and 37.3) and a first and two seconds in the relays. Jr Davy Hinton powered the runners-up with victories in the pole vault (13-3) and high jump (6-4 in a jumpoff with Patuxent jr Terrence Brown) and a second in the hurdles. Other doublers were Bladensburg sr Jason Aaron in the 500 and 800 (1:11.1 and 2:08.5) and Westlake jr Carlos Hunt in the 1600 and 3200 (4:44.7 and 10:10.5). Thomas Stone sr Tim Bilmanis was over 50 feet in the shot put (50-9).
