Ryan Deak skips state meet -- The nationally
ranked sophomore distance star from Tallahassee decided to sit out
the state meet and change schools (from Lincoln to Chiles) next
year. His coach and father, Bob Deak, said the decision was reached
because of "philosophical differences and conflicting goals
and commitment levels" between himself and Lincoln coaches.
Ryan has already started a 4-month base period for next fall's cross
country season.
