Day 2: Which one is California's best male athlete for 2004???
---
James Logan's Kevin Craddock (left) finds himself in the 60H, 4x200 and 4x400 finals!
Long Beach Poly's Derrick Jones (center) clocked 10.44 in 2004 to rank just behind
Oakland Skyline's Kenny O'Neal (10.40) last year. Today they square off in the 60m final!
O'Neal was the top qualifier in the prelims at 6.87, but that was in flats, as spikes are only
allowed here for Saturday's finals. The state record of 6.71 (Phillip Johnson in 1978) could fall!

Boys' Pre-Finals Analysis - Girls' Pre-Finals Analysis

Can Wilson, Logan or Merrill West beat Poly in '04?
-
Just when it appeared Long Beach Wilson would have to massively reload in 2004, a trio of
high-profile transfers arrived on campus, making things very interesting on the CA scene.
Long Beach Poly is loaded again (might be the bestall-around team in the U.S.), but squads
from James Logan and Merrill West have their best groups ever, making this a great battle!
These teams and several others will square of several times in today's relay/individual finals!
Logan topped the qualifying in the 4x200 and Wilson in the 4x400, with Poly still within reach!

Tri-County Running makes SMR final!

North Monterey County nabbed one of the final qualifying spots for the sprint medley relay, with
Nathan Huerta, Alexander Doucet, Ryan Puckett and Michael Bradford teaming up! Huerta has
quite a load today, running the 4x800, the 800 leg on the sprint medley, and the seeded 3200m. Wow!

Mustang Track Club closing the gap!

John Muir HS of Pasadena athletes were well represented as the Mustang Track
Club, with Durrell Burns, Breyon Williams, Tyrone Ferdinand and Marquis Profit
pooling their efforts to qualify in the 4x200 relay. The Mustangs are mighty once again!
