Nike Indoor Nationals

LOGAN CREW SWEEPS TRIPLE JUMP!
Girls - Ashika Charan (Unat/Clarem HS/So Cal Cheetahs) 3rd Multi's!
Sade Williams Leads G400 qualifiers - Kristina Davis (Unat/Logan HS) 4th G200 Qual -
DeContee Kay (Unat/Logan) GTJ win 39-08.75
Boys - Nkosinza Balumbu (Unat/Logan) 48-04.75 TJ Win!

Balumbu won it with a first jump of 48-4 ¾, but could never rest easy. Brandon Cathcart of Salisbury, NC
made him sweat with a second-round 48- 2 ¾, and third-placer Wendell Simpkins of Concordville, Pa.
had a good 47-4 ¼. Balumbu wasn't really satisfied: "It was all right; I didn't do as well as I wanted to, but coming
out here and winning was OK. "Last week I jumped 50. I was trying to exceed 50 feet again. That was it."
The 5-10, 140-pounder closed strongly, too, with a sixth-jump 48-2 ¼. "I always try to leave something for that last jump,"
he said. "48 again was all right. I wasn't expecting it. I'll take it. His college choices: "I haven't made a decision, but it's out
of UCLA, Arkansas, Cal and Washington State." - Elliot Denman for DyeStat
