Rules of the Meet

General
| Eligibility is defined by MPSSAA Bylaw .02
| General regulations are contained in MPSSAA Bylaw .07

Rules Applicable to Regional and State Meets
| Teams are not permitted in the Armory until 3 p.m.
| Balconies and basements of the Armory are off-limits at all times.
| National Federation rules apply except as modified in the Bulletin
| Shoes with spikes are prohibited.
| Spraying of shoe soles is prohibited.
| No tape is permitted on the floor for any running event.
| Recommended maximum number of runners per section in distance events: 800 (9), 1600 (12), 3200 (18), 3200 Relay
(9).
| Slower sections precede fast sections.
| Top 7 shot putters will receive 3 additional attempts.

Regional Meets
| Athletes must have had a minimum of 3 weeks of supervised training and have participated in at least 2 MPSSAA-sanctioned
meets.
| Outdoor meets do not count as sanctioned meets
| Each school is allowed 3 entries per individual event and 1 team in each relay event.
| Athletes may participate in a maximum of 4 events; a scratch counts as an event.
| Opening heights: HJ-Girls 4'0; PV-Girls 6'0; HJ-Boys 5'2; PV-Boys 8'0
| Admission for spectators over 7 years old is $4; no re-entry is permitted.
| Plaque to first place team; ribbons to top 6 finishers in each event.

State Meet
| Seeding committee meeting is February 21 in Baltimore
| Region meet champions are the top seeds regardless of performance.
| Seeding order for the 300, 500, 800 Relay, and 1600 Relay will be lanes 2-3-4-1; all other races on the oval
will be seeded from lane 1 out.
| Opening heights will be determined by the Games Committee.
| Admission for spectators over 7 years old is $5; no re-entry is permitted.
| Plaques to first two teams; medals to first 3 finishers; ribbons to 4-6.
| Only competitors and officials are allowed on the track or infield.
| Audible radios and tape players are prohibited from the meet site.
