43rd Golden West Invitational

400 meters

June 8, 2002 at Sacramento State University, Sacramento CA

Boys - Girls

Kelly Willie back on top; Christina Hardeman CA 54.23

Boys

17 Kelly Willie is US#1 again - Willie has reigned at the top of the US charts for 2 years, but he was knocked down to #2 by 16 Jeremy Wariner's 45.57 in the Texas regionals. They won different divisions in the Texas state meet, setting up a showdown here. Willie won decisively. "I didn't look good in second," Willie said with a big smile afterward.
