FAQ 1
1. Why do I need a USATF card and how do I obtain one?
With your USATF membership comes an accident insurance policy,
which covers injuries suffered going to, from and during any USATF
sanctioned meet (of which the Nike Indoor Classic is one). The cost
of the USATF card varies according your local USATF office. You
may obtain them from your local USATF office (check the USATF web
site, www.usatf.org for the office nearest you), or via the USATF
web site, itself. You may also obtain them at the meet during registration
and packet pickup. However, to avoid delays at registration, it
is highly recommended to obtain them prior to the meet.
2. When may I be able to purchase tickets to the meet?
There is no advance ticket sale except for those on sale at packet
pickup/registration on the Friday evening before the meet. Tickets
are available on a "first come first served" basis. Tickets
cost $15.00 for Saturday and $20.00 for Sunday, or $30.00 for both
days. Tickets for children under the age of ten are $5.00 per day.
Special finish line/VIP passes are available for $40.00 (2 day pass
only).
3. How do I know if my entry has been accepted or rejected?
You will not be notified if your entry has been accepted, only
if it has been rejected. The rejection notice will be in the form
of either a letter, e-mail or phone call. Please, note, however,
if your verifiable performance meets the entry guideline for your
event, you will be / are accepted into the meet.
4. What if I am a legitimate member of the press?
If you are a working member of the press, please request a credential
on your organization's letterhead from the e-mail address noted
below. Press credentials will be available at registration and in
the general public admission area.
5. Can I wear my school uniform?
It is generally acceptable, but state rules vary. You may want
to check with your state high school association. Otherwise, any
suitable track and field uniform is fine. Also note that the Classic
is conducted under USATF rules, so there is no "jewelry rule."
6. How will I know what heat I'm in?
Heat sheets will be posted at registration (and on www.dyestat.com)
on Friday evening, March 8.
7. Will I be able to try out the track prior to the meet,
and what about warming up?
The facility will be available from noon on Friday, March 8 until
the close of registration (10pm) for practice. There will be ample
room to warm up both in the facility and outside (as the weather
is historically mild enough). Field event athletes and hurdlers
will also be allowed on the track for their final warm-ups.
8. When can spectators enter the facility?
On Saturday, March 9 at 8am, and on Sunday, March 10 at 7:30am.
9. For the Freshman mile (best 30 entries) and the youth
events (first 30 entries received per event), how will I know if
I've met those (best / first 30) conditions?
You will be notified via e-mail or telephone if you are NOT accepted.
Otherwise, consider the entry accepted.
10. Will there be "first call", "second call",
etc.?
The meet follows the international standards in that "calls"
from the main public address announcer at the facility are not done.
However, there will be "calls" in the clerking area itself,
which is located in the same room as registration/packet pickup.
(It is the athlete's responsibility to check in at least 45 minutes
prior to the scheduled time of the event).
