How experienced is the organization which puts on the Nike
Indoor Classic?
Meet management, now of the National Scholastic Sports Foundation,
has been putting on track meets since the fifties (nearly 50 years,
that is). They ran the National Scholastic Indoor Track and Field
Championships from 1984 to 1997, the Nike Indoor Classic since 1999,
and the adidas Outdoor Track and Field Championships since 1991.
In what other areas are the National Scholastic Sports Foundation
involved?
The NSSF provides support to selected high school and junior age
meets in the U.S., and to the athletes who travel to those meets.
For example, it has provided hundreds of youngsters with financial
support to the USATF Junior Track and Field Championships, the World
Junior Cross Country Trials, and is currently awarding nearly a
dozen high school meets throughout the country with financial assistance.
In essence, the National Scholastic Sports Foundation does a great
deal more for the sport than administering the country's best two
interscholastic championships.
