Shenandoah District Meet (A) 10/25/00
Wed. Oct. 25, 2000 BUFFALO GAP -- Page County put all five of it's boys
in the top seven to decisively capture the Shenandoah District title. Todd
Somers led the Panthers in winning the meet in 16:58. His teammates packed
in behind him with a 53-second split. Host Buffalo Gap was second with 48
while Riverheads was third with 67. Stonewall Jackson edged Wilson
Memorial, 97-98, to return to the Region B championships, which the
Generals will host next week for the first time in five years.
Wilson Memorial was more spread out on the girls side but managed to
put four in the top 10. Daphne Propst won the meet in 21:53 and led
Wilson. Gap placed second here as well with 53 points with Stonewall a
solid third with 59. Luray was fourth with 77 to move on to the regional
meet as well.
