Returning Athletes - U.S.

Boys

Sprints - Tory Mitchell, Kareem Kelly back in 100-200. 400 needs new Modibo.
Distance - Jon Stevens is off to the Farm, but plenty of Northeast power returns in Murad Campbell, Andy Powell, Dylan Welsh, Ali Abiola.
Hurdles - Jermaine Cooper and Rickey Harris defend their titles.
Jumps - The Smiths (Richard and Traun) are rumbling down on the Bayou in horizontal jumps;  Orangefield TX has 17-foot teammates in PV (Eric Eshbach, John Henley); Lamar Johnson, Nathan Fields top HJ.
Throws - All Americans Terrence Glover, Luke Mackay return in discus; SP, JT looking for new leaders.

Girls

Sprints - Who can fill tiny Angela Williams' huge shoes?  Last year's super frosh Alexis Joyce, Erica Whipple are ready in 100-200; 400 champ Nakiya Johnson will be challenged right at home in the CA Southland by Monique Henderson, Lashinda Demus.
Distance - Finally a senior, Lindsay Hyatt in the 800 is the surest thing in all of HS track; in the longer races, 2-time FootLocker champ Erin Sullivan isn't far behind.
Hurdles - Sheena Johnson back in 400IH; Jerkita McLorin, Lashinda Demus look to move up in 100, 300.
Jumps - Wide open races; new crop of leaders, except for four All-American triple jumpers (Yolanda Thompson, Lavada Hill, Jodi Schlesinger, Andrea Booker).
Throws - Inge Jorgenson defends javelin title; Rebekah Green, April Burton move up in SP, DT.
