University of Wisconsin/Parkside, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Here is the top ten boys and girls in the seeded races. Weather was cold, foggy with intermittent rain until the end of boy's seeded race, when rain came down in buckets. Course had been change slightly at 1 1/4 and 1 3/4 miles due to weather and course changes instituted during NCAA div II race on this course last weekend. BOYS------- Boy's Seeded Results The rain had started to effect the course, and there was a huge pack of fifteen at one mile, and ten at mile an a half before Jorge Torres and Fasil Bizuneh made their move, hitting two miles in 10:03. Jorge Torres kept going, winning in 15:46, with Fasil making his first trip to the nationals. Brian Turner took third. Torres looked strong the entire race and kept control at the finish. Fasil did a jump for joy at the end that showed an impressive vertical jump for a young distance runner. 1. Joe Barnes, senior, Indianapolis, Indiana, 15:56.25 8. Ayron King, senior, Mantua, Ohio, 15:59.67 alternates: 9. Nathan Mcclintock, senior, Stillwater, Minnesota, 16:09.48 10. Sean Graham, Stockbridge, Michigan, 16:10.46 Jorge and Fasil should be two to watch from Midwest. Fasil, the 1996 Indiana Xc champ, took 19th this year with a bad race. In post race interviews, Fasil said that he had watched race on ESPN for six years hoping to make the nationals. GIRLSSeeded Girl's Race --10:45 AM Cristin Wurth, running in her second Foot Locker race, took the lead early, followed closely by Rebecca Mitchell through two and a half miles. Kristin Wurth continued on for the win, while Mitchell was passed by Jennifer Wollam. Cristin won in 18:28 and tenth place was 18:57.
