Story of the race
Notre Dame NJ, which lost its US#1 ranking to Willingboro NJ at
Eastern States here on Tuesday, won it back in decisive fashion
tonight. After several lead changes, Jerry DiColo got Notre Dame
back in front to stay on the last turn of the third leg. Then Jeff
Zodda threw a 55.1 punch in the first half of the anchor leg to
seal the victory. Mumford Detroit rallied on the last lap to get
second. The first seven teams now rank in the top 10 in the US in
the DyeStat Elite 2002 indoor
lists.
