Saratoga Springs NY, the Number 1 girls team in the nation , ran off with the Girls Eastern States Championship with a 33 point score (3-5-6-8-11-14-16). Amazingly, the next two teams are from the same league and New York Section, with Columbia 92 shading Colonie 93.

In the boys races, the three fastest teams were only a half second apart in average team time. Unfortunately, they ran in different races due to the meet's policy of balanced seeding across the seven boys varsity races. The best three were: US#17 Old Bridge NJ 13:23.58 (56 points, Race F winner), US#21 Bishop Hendricken RI 13:23.70 (Race B, 43 points), and St. John's MA 13:24.1 (Race A, 47 points).

Fastest runners of day were Brian Dalpiaz, Sayville 12:27.6 (Brendan Fennell, Pearl River 12:35.5) and Tracey Brauksieck, Homer 14:28 (Laurel Burdick, Fayetteville Manlius 14:30.3 and Nicole Blood, Saratoga 14:32.7).
