Mustang - Phair Co. Invitational
Friday, September 10, 2004 @ Rohr Park

George Green report and photos - Thanks!!

Mandy Beaty (left - Scripps Ranch) with day's quickest - Jake Ruzevick and Marco Anzures roll in Silver Race!

April Montgomery (Helix), Brooke Anderson (University City), Marco Anzures and Jake
Ruzevick (St. Augustine and Coronado, respectively) and Riley Booker (University City)
were among the individual race winners at this year's featured Mustang Invitational!

It was very hot for most of the races and the course was a bit longer than previous years. This accounts for the slower times. It was probably short is the past as all my runners seemed to PR for the season in this early meet.
The course has always been advertised as 3.1 miles. There was some problem with course direction as well as many kids had to turn around to go back around cones. The three top girls from the small school race were DQ'd as was the 3rd place finisher in the boys large school race. The three top
times for the boys were Marco Anzures from St. Augustine in 16:48.7. He just held off Jake Ruzevick from Coronado who was coming fast in 16:49. Riley Booker (University City) won the boys large school race in about the same time (16:49.7). The top girl was Mandy Beatty from Scripps Ranch in 13:28.09 for 2.1 miles. No one was close to her, even the 3 top in the small school
race who were DQ'd.
