Santa Barbara County Championships - River Park - Lompoc - Duane Solomon (Cabrillo, Lompoc), sub 1:52 800 runner, continues his Final Fall CC Season- leading his team to a 58-85 win over rival Lompoc with a 15:21 win - Anne Kennedy (Santa Barbara) took the Girls race at 18:25, with Lompoc turning the tables on Cabrillo at this level 56-65 - Results (complete Varsity results added 11/4)

John Seaman Invitational - Kingsburg (Central Section) - Buchanan's Valeria Delgado (18:42) and Kyle Alcorn (15:18) were individual winners here, Alcorn by 45 seconds, with the Buchanan Girls taking Clovis East 38-44, and the Clovis West Boys a fine 31 point total in their win - Results

South Sequoia League Finals - Central Section - Lake Buena Vista - 10/31 - Soph Brandon Rooney (Tehachapi) took the Boys win at 17:04, but Manuel Puga (Shafter) in second led his team's charge that had them score 26 for the win - Girls - Sonja Almanza (Taft) 20:23 the winner with Shafter a 20 point total here for a team sweep!! - Results

North Monterey Bay League Meet - Toro Park - CCS - 11/02 - North Monterey Bay overpowered this League with 19 points boys and 28 girls, with Soph Keli Parker (NMB) the Boys winner at 16:22 and Kristin Gallup (Monterey) a near minute Girls winner at 19:39 - NMC took the top eight places in the Boys Frosh/Soph also!! - Results

Sunset League Meet - Central Park (Huntington Beach) - 3.0 miles 11/02 - This powerful league had Alison Costello (Esperanza) crank 17:31 to win over rival Bethany Nickless (Fountain Valley) 18:11, with Esperanza 30-50 winners over FV - Boys had Esperanza go 1-2, with Mike Chavez (15:32) and Stephen Murvin (15:51) but Fountain Valley 44-49 winners over Esperanza - Results

San Andreas League Meet (SS) - Yucaipa HS - 3.0 miles - Junior John Rycroft (Yucaipa) took the Boys contest on this challenging course at 16:32 (runs similar to old Mt. SAC course) to lead his team to a 40-53 win over improved San Bernardino, with fellow eleventh grader Lindsey Myers (Yucaipa) 19:09 leading the Thunderbird Girls to a fine 32 point total - Results

Big Sky League Finals (SS) - Woodcrest Christian readied for Section and State competition with 15 points (boys) and 16 points (girls) with Grant Nunnally (16:34) and Holly DiGerolamo (20:34) individual winners for the WC powerhourse - Results

Metro League Meet (Sac Joaquin) - Sierra College (Rocklin) - Matt Freitas (Nevada Union, Grass Valley) led his team to a 26 point total with his 16:43 win - Meagan Cearley (Woodland) was an 18:59 Girls winner with her squad going 1-2-3 and scoring 27 for the win - Results

Sea View League Cluster Meet #2 (Woodbridge HS - Irvine) - 11/1/02 - (SS) - Michael Haddan (Woodbridge) cruised a 15:12 win, with Foothill (Santa Ana) taking the Boys titles with a 5-0 record - Girls - Kristen Berglas (Woodbridge) added a fine 17:59 win, with her highly ranked squad gapping a big over a minute through five with a 5-0 sweep of the other schools - Results (added to 11/03)

Lynbrook Invitational - CCS - Lynbrook HS - 2.1 miles - Frosh Ian LaForm (Monta Vista) led his team to a Varsity win with Alicia Follmar (Saratoga) continuing her fine season with a 12:38 win with Monta Vista a 34-42 winner over Lynbrook on the Girls side - Results

WCAL #2 - CCS - Golden Gate Park (CCS) - 5k contest - The super group of girls that grace this league came together again and it was Michelle Gallagher (Sacred Heart Cathedral) who came out ahead again 18:22 over Ciara Viehweg (St. Ignatius) 18:33, with Melissa Grelli (Presentation) 18:36, and McKayla Plank (Mitty) 18:39 (wow!! some quality) - SI 47-76 winners over Sacred Heart on the Girls side - Dominic Vogl (Serra) was 16:48-16:51 winner over fellow junior Alex Guney (Bellarmine) with St. Francis 34-54 winners over Serra for team title - Results

San Luis Obispo County Championships - Laguna Lake Park (SLO) 10/31/02 - Double team sweep for SLO, with Jenna Kingma (19:26) and Rachel Valliere (19:34) racing away from the pack to lead SLO to a 34-68 win over Arroyo Grande and the pack on the Girls' side, with junior Dan Nunn (SLO) leading his team to a 46-47 win over Paso Robles with a 16:15 win - Results

Crystal Springs Center Meet #3 - (CCS) - Shackleton twins from Carlmont (Kyle 15:52 and Drew 15:55) went 1-2, with those placings lifting their squad to a 34 point total for the win - Alison Doniger (Menlo Atherton) 18:58 Girls win with Half Moon Bay an impressive 37 point total with three frosh in the top 5 (rising small school power?) - Results

Prep League Finals - (SS) - Mt. SAC - Highly ranked Chadwick Girls and Pasadena Poly went at it, with Chadwick having to run down the Poly group near the end to emerge victorious 32-47, with PP's Elizabeth Dooley a 19:12 individual winner - Boys' contest equally as exciting, as Chadwick actually ahead on scoring through four over Division V power Flintridge Prep (La Canada) 20-21 - Flintridge's #5, #6, and #7 nip Chadwick's last scorer to ice the tight 32-34 win. East Sierra League (Central Section) - 10/30/02 - McFarland top eight places Boys Varsity, with Victor Zavala sitting out, and Javier Medina taking Boys race in CR 15:54 - Forty six second 1-5 gap in 15 point win for the McFarland Boys - Alicia Veiss (McFarland) 4th consecutive Individual league title for the Girls with McFarland fourteenth consecutive title there (talk about tradition!!!) - Results

Century League Double Dual (SS) - 10/30/02 - at Canyon (Anaheim) - El Modena (Orange) - Brea - Tim Aukshunas (El Mo) took the individual contest at 16:07, with Brea the winner in the double dual competitions 22-38 over Canyon and 24-34 over El Modena - Results

Northern Section Dual - Enterprise vs. Foothill 10/30/02 - Kenny Frank (16:35) and Janesse Hoppe (19:41 minute win new CR) lifted Enterprise to double victory, with Boys 21-34 and Girls a squeaker 26-30 - Results

Mt. Baldy League (SS) - Mt. SAC - 10/29/02 - Don Lugo, looking strong and hoping for Erick Maldonado's return in a few weeks, was Boys team winner with 20 behind Alex Benavidez's 15:47 run at the popular Mt. SAC Facility - Diamond Ranch 5 of top 7 Girls behind Danielle Evans' 19:35 winner for strong effort there with 18 point total - Results

Monticello Empire League Meet - Above Vacaville Girls and Davis Boys celebrate their league titles - Frosh Cecily Lemmons became sixth Vacaville Girl to take Individual title in last seven years in winning contest at 18:33, leading her team to a fine 28 point total - Benicia was Div II Girls Champ - Wolhan Ovalle (Vacaville) 15:42 Boys winner, with Davis 33 points to dominate team contest - again Benicia Div II Boys Champs - Results and More Pictures

Pioneer Valley League Meet - 12 Bridges Golf Course - Lincoln - Sac Joaquin - Oakmont, behind individual Champ Dan Napieralski (16:34) took this Boys Meet with impressive 19 point total - Erica Tomlinson lead Oakmont Girls to a 20 point total with her 20:22 win

Delta League (Sac Joaquin) - Sierra College (Rocklin) 10/30 - Austin Ramos (Jesuit) and Rachel Bryan (Laguna Creek) were impressive with Ramos a 28 second winner at 15:36 and Bryan over 30 seconds at 18:10.   • CCAA Conference - Cal State Bakersfield 10/26 - Super frosh Mark Batres (Cal Poly/Pomona) showed his Collegeiate elders no respect with a fine individual win, with Cal State Chico nipping UC Davis for the team title 28-39 - Davis was ranked #5 in the nation Div II, with Chico #8 before the race - Women - Easterner, redshirt frosh athlete Annmarie Housen (listed at over age 30 in some New York results) at CS LA took the individual title at 20:52, with Chico a 42-55 winner over UC Davis here - Davis 9th ranked before race Nationally Div II, Chico 11th - Regionals 11/9 Woodward Park - Fresno - Results of Conference Meet
  • GSAC Conference Meet (Golden State) - Woodward Park (Fresno) 10/26 - Another double team winner, this time it is Azusa Pacific, with fine 1500 runner, Brianna Carstensen racing 18:25 for the win, followed by teammate Kristine Krause at 18:32 , with APU scoring a 42-44 win over Concordia, with former West Hills HS (Santee) star Heather Shurtleff leading that squad in third place - Men - Jason Finch (Westmont) took the win at 24:57, but it was APU once again, with a 50-67 win over Pt Loma - Results
