from Pam Borg

Wow, what a exciting boy's varsity race. I literally had goose bumps
when they Lauren and Tim passed the mile 1/4 mark. They were just a few
seconds apart then Lauren opened it up a little by the 2 mile crossing
it at approximately 10:05. Tim was about 5 seconds behind at 2 mi with
Kevin Pellegrino of Klamath Union just about 20 meters behind. Chasing
Kevin were Grants Pass' Trevor Hanlin and ashland's Andrew Wright.
Lauren had a powerful last 400 meters allowing him to pull away from Tim
down the final stretch. Jespersen crossed the finish line with a Meet
Record ( previously held by Ian Dobson of KU(now attending Stanford), in
a time of 15:26. Time Nelson tied the record at 15:37, Pelligrino of KU
was 3rd at 15;52.
