Golden Staters travel to Idaho
with Indoor Success
Racing on the fine Boise State University Indoor
facility located in Nampa, Idaho at the Idaho Center Complex a
couple of groups of Californians met with real success. The mondo
200 meter banked track was purchased from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta
where it was used for a number of national championship affairs
there. It has proved to be quick in Idaho also!
Frosh Katie Kraychir from Twenty-Nine Palms was the
winner in the Girls Hammer at 57-03, the nation’s #3 throw
of the year and a National Frosh Record in the event, taking down
the old mark of 52-07.25 by Lauren Chambers of Kell, Marietta,
GA from March of 2006.
Super girls clockings for the weekend on the track
from Golden Staters had a couple marks among the top twenty in
the nation
for
the winter season. Andra Harris (Pacific United Track Club/Monterey
Trail HS, Elk Grove) had the quickest clocking of the day over
200 meters, 25.07 in winning her heat. Justine Fedronic (Unat/Carlmont
HS), one of the nation’s top 800 runners, took that event
with a fine 2:16.22 and came back to win the mile in a fine 5:12.94.
Sara Sipes (Pacific United/Oak Ridge HS, El Dorado Hills) was a
fine 58.20 in winning her 400 heat.
Brad Surh (Unat/Carlmont HS) had a fine Boys double,
taking the 800 at 1:57.50 and the mile at 4:27.19, with Michael
Rideout (Pacific United/Valley HS, Sacramento) third in the 800
at 1:58.17 as he continues his fine winter season.
