Host's Cameron Island leads the Speedfest at Skyline!!
The second annual Skyline Invitational was a success.
Even though
it was 50 degrees outside, it was hot on the track.
Cameron Island from Skyline, #1 in the state and #9 in the nation in
the indoor 60m (6.88), ran 10.77 in his first 100m outdoor campaign
and
edged out Bobby Guillory from Jesse Bethel who ran 11.14. The two
sprinters switched positions in the 200m with Guillory placing 1st
in
with 22.07 and Island in 22.09.
Jesse Bethel ran 42.54 in he 4x100m. Jeff Ford from Hayward High won
the long jump with 21'5"Tom Little from Washington in the discus
at
130'00". In the 800m Marcus Cordero from Moreau Catholic beat
Maurico
Hurtado from Hayward at 2:03.85 and 2:03.88 respectively.
On the girls side, Megan McFarland from Bishop O'Dowd won the 100m
in
12.79, while Meosha Chase won the 200m in 26.73. In the 100H Dantia
Hudson from Skyline, #9 in the state in the indoor 60H (9.14) left
the
field at the 3rd hurdle to run a 15.07 and Shane Mulhaney-Banks won
the
300H in 46.65 with Whitney Nazel in second at 48.50.
In the relays, the 4x100 was very close between Skyline (49.72) and
Bishop O Dowd (49.73) and the 4x400 with Bishop O Dowd (4:00) leading
the majority of the race ahead of Los Oso (4:11) and Skyline (4:12)for
the victory of the final running event.
The long jump was won by Ke'Nyia Richardson at 18'1" and Miranda
Wilson from Bishop ODowd won the shot put and the discuss in 40-3 and
131-7.
