Ex-Long Beach Wilson star Lashinda Demus (U. of South Carolina)
continues to make a big international statement after a fine 53.70 performance that topped qualifying in the women's 400m hurdles!

The Bad: Christian Cantwell, who was riding a 14-meet winning streak, fouled on five of six attempts and placed fourth, leaving worldly talent out of Athens.

The Ugly: The subject of rumors regarding the recent BALCO scandal, Marion Jones finished a stunning fifth in the women's 100m final, timed in 11.14.
