USA Team led by tons of Californians! - Meet Schedule

The Xllth Panamerican Junior Championships in Athletics will be held at the National Stadium in Bridgetown, Barbados on Friday, July 18th, Saturday, July 19th and Sunday July 20th. The AAA of Barbados has hosted a number of regional competitions over the past several years, including the most recent edition of the CAC Junior Championships in June of 2002, the CAC Senior Championships in 1999 and several editions of the Carifta Games (the Caribbean's annual Easter weekend meet for junior athletes). Official invitations from the Organizing Committee addressed to each of the 45 Member Federations in the hemisphere will be forthcoming in the immediate future, along with a confirmation of the number of athletes that, in accordance with the Area Championships Agreement, will be offered free accommodations during their stay in the island of Barbados. The last edition of the Panamerican Junior Championships were held in Santa Fe, Argentina in October 2001 at which some 300 athletes accompanied by 73 coaches and officials from a record-setting 25 countries took part. Seven Championships records were set at this meet. Previous editions of the Championships have been held in Sudbury, Canada in 1980, Barquisimento, Venezuela in 1982, Nassau, Bahamas in 1984, Orlando, USA in 1986, Santa Fe, Argentina in 1989, Kingston, Jamaica in 1991, Winnipeg, Canada in 1993, Santiago, Chile in 1995, Havana, Cuba in 1997, Tampa, USA in 1999 and Santa Fe, Argentina in 2001.
