Annual Pasadena Games Registration Info
below! As of March 15th,
we have over 70 teams confirmed! If you wish to participate, Meet Flyer First Mailing To Coaches February 24, 2005 Dear Coaches, We're one month away from the big meet - the 63rd Annual Pasadena Games Invitational at Pasadena City College! Thank you for choosing to support this year's track and field competition, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 26th, 2005. To date, 53 schools have already confirmed their participation for this year's event, with many more also recently expressing interest. As of February 25, leading athletes from CIF schools from the San Diego, L.A. City, Southern and Central Sections have committed to the event! This letter serves to provide you with more specific meet information so that your team will be squared away for meet day. As always, you can find more information at our meet website, www.PasadenaGames.org Additionally, you can also email us at [email protected] Here is updated meet entry information to be aware of: TIME SCHEDULE AND MEET LOGISTICS The 63rd Annual Pasadena Games Invitational will begin precisely at 1:30 p.m. and will conclude at 8:15 p.m. There are four heats per gender in most of the varsity lane events, with one or two heats per gender in the varsity non-lane events. Additionally, there will be one heat in certain frosh/soph events for boys as we welcome the return of that division of competition in 2005. The meet will be conducted under CIF and NFSHSA rules. The invitational will be held on the fast-rated, synthetic all-weather facility at Robinson Stadium on the Pasadena City College campus. The track is a 9-lane facility for straightaway events (100 and the high hurdles) and an 8-lane facility for events of 200 meters and longer. Each track race will be a final, and fully-automatic timing for all places will be provided by Royal Results Timing. Meet management will provide batons to be used for the relay events. As for the field events, there are separate pits available for the long and triple jump, with all six field events (long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put and discus) being contested on the infield of the track. Athletes will be given four attempts in each event, with best marks determining final placing. All discus and shot implements will be weighed for compliance before the start of those respective events. For the pole vault, the head coach must sign the weight-rating card (included in your team packet) for each vaulter competing. The vaulter will need to bring this card to the official at the event area prior to the start of his/her event. Either 3/16" or 1/8" needle/pin spikes may be used on the PCC track facility, with no exceptions. If you need them, we will be selling spikes at the athlete's entrance gate. In addition, meet programs, silk-screened meet T-shirts and food and drink will be sold at the event. Medals will be awarded to the top four places in each invitational event and the top four performances achieved from the combined remaining heats. Additionally, special awards will be given for the winners of the Boys' 100-Meter Dash, the winners of the "Pasadena Special" (sprint medley), and the Athletes of the Meet (one boy and one girl). A trainer's station will be located within the stadium. The warm-up area will be located on the ground floor of the parking structure located to the west of the track facility, as no automobile traffic will be present on that floor on meet day. Only coaches and athletes wearing the proper wristbands (included in your team packet) will be allowed into this area. New for 2005: School buses will park on the parking lot on the west end of campus and coaches and athletes are the only ones allowed to enter the track facility from the west entrance. All fans, parents, etc. will only be allowed to park on the east end of campus, in the newly-built parking structure. Only spectators (no athletes) will be allowed to enter from the east entrance. ENTRY FEES Entry fees for competitors will be $8 per athlete per event and $25 per school per relay team. There is a maximum entry fee cap of $250 per school this year, although most schools will pay well below that. Payment of entry fees may be made prior to the meet or at the credentials (packet pick-up) area on the day of the meet. If a school check cannot be obtained prior to the meet, a personal check from the coach will suffice. Do not send payment until entries have been determined and posted. You are only charged for athletes actually seeded into the meet. Admission into the meet will be $5 for spectators for all-day access.
** On-line registration is now open , and YOU must register your athletes by Sunday, March 13th. From Monday, March 14th until noon on Sunday, March 20th, you may update your seed marks with any improvements. Final deadline to have athletes registered and marks entered into www.episports.com is 12 noon on Sunday, March 20th. Please have only one coach per school handle the on-line entries. ** To register on-line, go to www.EPISports.com
and request to be issued a username and password. Once you make this request,
they usually email you a username and password within hours. Once you
log in, follow the on-line directions you are provided. As
you will find, this is a very easy and user-friendly process for submitting
entries. This will also be the same on-line
company that this year's League Finals meet managers will need to use
to submit their leagues' marks to the CIF-Southern Section office. ** Top verified marks will compete in the featured Invitational heat/flight, with those missing the cutoff then being considered for seeding purposes into the remaining heats. We will aim to have 24 entrants per field event. ** Notification on entry selection, final time schedule and final meet instructions will be posted online at www.DyeStatCal.com on Monday morning, March 21st. The fastest non-qualifiers will also be prioritized on an alternate's list based on verified marks. Should there be scratches on meet day, these alternates will move into their places. ** There are no rain make-up dates. This meet will proceed,
rain or shine. Every safe effort will be made to conduct each event during
inclement weather. Sincerely, Nicolas Colon/John Bianchi Time Schedule (rev. 2/25/2005) Running Events **** “Pasadena Special” *** 6:00 – Girls Open 300m LH 100 Allyson Felix L.A. Baptist
