April showers bring May flowers, right? Not in Colorado. April showers - in this case, better defined as an April blizzard - bring sunny weather and flying times for Monday's competitors. After the Metro-Denver area was hit with a typical freak snowstorm over the weekend, the skies are clear for the 5th annual Littleton Invitational on Monday.

Relay Rematch

In what has become an annual rivalry between the two distant schools, the Boys' 4x800 meter relay should once again go down to the wire, with last season's champion, Newburg NY squaring off against last season's runner-up, the host school, Littleton CO. A tight race to the finish, Newburg edged out Littleton, 7:54.12 to 7:56.51, and by doing so, the New York school, who has made an annual appearance at this meet, set the young Invitational's 3200 relay record.

Mega Mason Machine

Fresh off a Shot Put/Discus Throw double-title at Arcadia, Buena Vista's own Mason Finley has proven he is tough to beat. Rather impossible to beat, actually. Including the 2009 Indoor season and last Outdoor Season, Finley has won nine major SP events and six major DT events (DT not including Indoors). In fact, the Buena Vista Junior currently sits at No. 4 on the Dyestat Elite 100 in SP and is the top overall DT on the Elite 100.
