Lead Highlights
- St. Thomas Acquinas jr Malia Cali once again had the best performance of the day, running 16:51 for 3 miles and winning by almost two minutes.
- Cali's win led St. Thomas Aquinas to the 2A title, with 24 points and the best average of the day, 18:53.80.
- Joining Cali in the sub-18:00 club were 4A champ Kaitlin Flattman of Benton (17:33) and 5A titlist Angela Laborde of St. Scholastica (17:48).
- Parkway's Matthew Wolfe had the best boys run of the day in taking the 4A title in 15:06, 12 seconds up on Haughton's Mitchell Landry (15:18).
- The boys 5A official results remained in limbo until Wednesday, reportedly because of problems scanning a large string of results tags, but Catholic Baton Rouge and Catholic's Phillip Primeaux were finally awarded the victories.
- On the meet's first day, Metarie Park Country Day reportedly had left the meet thinking it had a one-point win over St. Martin's in 1A boys, but officials had failed to take into account a new rule disallowing scoring of athletes finishing after the 25:00 mark. The rescoring took a point off St. Martin's total, giving both schools 53 points, and giving St. Martin the title on the 6th-man tiebreaker.
