99 USATF NationalsQualifying StandardsMen - Women - QUALIFYING GUIDELINES From: [email protected] 1999 USA OUTDOOR QUALIFYING STANDARDS EVENT MARK MEN100 10.31 FAT only WOMEN100 11.48 fat only QUALIFYING GUIDELINES1. All qualifying performances for running events must be made on a standard indoor or outdoor track. 2. Qualifying marks must be made in verifiable in one of the following: 1) USATF or IAAF sanctioned events; 2) collegiate meets; 3) high school meets, except duals and triangulars 3. All qualifying marks from outdoor competitions must be attained on or after Friday, May 1, 1998, through Sunday, June 20, 1999. Qualifying marks from indoor competitions must be attained on or after Tuesday, December 1, 1998. 4. A 3% altitude adjustment, on the standard, is permitted for track events of 1500 meters or longer, contested at a facility 4000 feet, or more, above sea level. 5. A manual time may only be used for qualifying if no fully automatic time exists for the race. A manual time may not supersede any fully automatic qualifying time for an event. 6. Times submitted in hundredths of a second must be fully automatic times. 7. An entered athlete attaining an entry mark within a .1% allowance of the standard for a running event, or 1cm below the standard for the High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump or Shot Put, or 3cm below the standard for all other field events, may declare their desire to compete during the normal declaration period. Athletes within this allowance may be accepted into the competition by the Sport Committee Chair when positions are available in existing heats or sections in running events, or when the number of competitors in a field event is fewer than 16. |
