Now On to the Meet

Opening Ceremonies

The flag flies at half mast in honor of the Virginia Tech students lost in last week's massacre.
A welcome from Pinky Keehner, Associate Director Randall's Island Sports Foundation and Adrian Benepe, Commissioner, NY Parks & Recreation.

below, Commissioner Adrian Benepe and Aimee Boden, Executive Director of the Randall's Island Sports Foundation.
Commissioner Benepe is a track man. He ran track at Fordam Prep High and then at Middleburg College VT. The Icahn stadium is a "dream come true" for the Commissioner who was involved from the beginning in the planning for the new stadium and success in negotiations for a $10 million dollar award from Carl and Gail Icahn after whom the stadium is named.
