Afolabi Aromire rallies Da Stable of Maryland

Camden anchor Carl Smith seemed to have it under control coming off the
final turn. But anchor Afolabi Aromire of Da Stable (C.,H. Flowers MD) had other ideas. Aromire - runner-up earlier in the individual 400 - stormed down the home stretch and got up just at the tape to win it in 3:22.85.
In a desperate bid to win it back, Smith went sprawling over the finish line, a hugely disappointed second in 3:23.02. |

out a 3;53.78 romp over Hopewell Valley, NJ at 3:57.06 and Bethel, Va. at
3:58.85, the only squads beating the Roger Bannister-ish four-minute mark.
