Elite Events

The 100m meet record of 10.21 will be challenged by Xavier Carter of Florida, who has a season best of 10.29. The rest of the field will give Xavier plenty of competition-from Texas-Bradley Reed-10.34-Otis McDaniel-10.44-Ivory Williams-10.33, from Colorado-Nathan Yorks-10.45, from Louisiana-Will Hill-10.58-Trey Harts-10.79 and Mark Dillard-10.55.

This could be the night where 20 seconds is broken in the 200m and if not that the meet record of 20.49 is in trouble. Led by Xavier Carter with a 20.49 and challenged by Texas sprinters-Ivory Williams-20.72-Roderick Stewart-20.81-Otis McDaniel-21.15, Georgia-Cedric Goodman-21.34, Colorado-Nathan Yorks-20.89, Louisiana-Mark Dillard-21.26 and Trey Harts-21.39.

Catch These Out of Town Athletes

In the 100 Meter Dash BJ Basahourn and James Warren of Oklahoma lead the pack with 10.30 and 10.40. Xavier James of Houston should challenge with 10.55 and Kevin Crowe of Colorado-10.51.

The 200 Meter Dash, T.J. Light Fety of Oklahoma leads the field with 21.30. Behind him is Keegan Herring of Arizona with 21.40, Tim Odey of Texas and Anthony Boyd of Texas-21.49-Colorado brings in John West-21.41 and Julien Bouyea-21.55.

In the 400 Meter Dash, Cedric Goodman of Georgia will be chasing the 45.0 time with his nationally ranked time of 45.94. The following athletes are under 48.0-Michael Hilbe of Arizona, William McCaskaill of Oklahoma, Anthony Boyd of Texas. Colorado has Tony Stanfield of Smoky Hill HS-47.18.

In the 800 Meters, Brayon Brown of Houston with a time of 1:51.72 should challenge Cody Harper of Albuquerque Academy.

Shadrack Kiptoo who is national ranked in the 1500 and 3200 Meters will be going after the 1500 Meter Record of 3:50.24.

In the 110 Meter Hurdles, Jason Richardson from Texas, the #1 ranked hurdler in the USA with a time of 13.42, will be challenged by Jeremy Jackson of Texas with a 13.64. In the 300 Meter Hurdles, #1 ranked nationally Jason Richardson with a time of 36.05 will be chasing the meet record of 35.73. Taylor Pebley, Utah's 5A State Champion and Joseph Thomas will challenge Jason.

Raymond Harris of Texas leads the HJ field with a jump of 7'0". In the Long Jump, Frankie Gatson from Louisana who is nationally ranked at 24'11.5" will have James Warren of Oklahoma at 24'2" and Marcus Gaines of Smoky Hill HS-24'1". In the Triple Jump, there are four jumpers over 49'0". Texas jumpers-Chessly Johnson-50'2", Bobby Evers-59'93/4" and Shardae Boutte-49'61/2"and Jerrell Johnson of Colorado with a 49'2". Great competetion in the Pole Vault with 7 vaulters over 16'0". Mitch Greeley of South Carolina leads all with 16'9" and will feel challenge by Ty Barrington of Texas and Zack Graham of New Mexico both at 16'6". In the Shot Put, Zack Lloyd ranked # 1 in the country at 66'71/4" will have super competition with Wes Stockbarger of Florida-65'81/4" and Harrison Benjamim of Texas-63'91/2". The Discus has four throwers over 190'0" with Wes Stockbarger leading the group with 203'6".

The All Star 4X100 Meter Relay team of Xavier James, Bradley Reed, Ivory Williams from Texas and Xavier Carter of Florida will challenge the meet record of 39.35 and be hot after the World Junior National Record of 38.92. The team from Lancaster, Texas with a nation leading time of 42.28 and Oklahoma team with a seed time at 40.50 will be pushing the All Star team.

The 4x400 All Star team is made up with four athletes from four states-Xavier Carter-Florida-Cedric Goodman-Georgia-Jason Richardson-Texas-and Mark Dillard-Louisiana are capable of going under the meet record of 3:08.16.

Look Out For the New Mexico Locals

Cody Harper of the Academy in Albuquerque, who is national ranked in the 800 Meters with a time of 1:51.4. Also, will run on the 4X400 Relay.

From the Albuquerque Academy, Andres Urbina in the 1600 Meter Run with a 4:22.0.

In the Pole Vault, National ranked Zack Graham with 16'6" and Adam Martinez of Valley with 15'0".

Anthony Fairbanks of Highland High School in Albuquerque with Javelin throw of 198'6"

Nationally ranked Sean Richardson of Silver City with Javelin throw of 207'0".

Shadrack Kiptoo of La Cueva in Albuquerque who is nationally ranked in the 3200 Meter run and the 1600 Meter Run will be competing in the 1500 Meter Run. He will be chasing one of the older records for the GSWT&FC. The 1500 Meter Run set back in 1988 by Ian Alsen of Northridge, CA., with a time of 3:50.24.

From Lovington,NM, Tydree lewis with a Triple Jump mark of 48'9".

Brandon Mckinney of Rio Rancho in the Discus with a toss of 183'9".

Elite Events

In the 100 Meter Dash, the record of 11.46 set by Ashley Owens of Colorado Springs will be in jeopardy with Ashley Owens with defending champion returning with a 2004 season best of 11.33 along with Rachel Foster North Shore HS, Houston Texas-11.66; Krystin Lacy of Dallas-11.48; Cleo Tyson of Huntsville, Texas-11.40; Gyashia Hall of Austin Regan-11.51 and Jessica Onyepunuka of Peoria, Arizona-11.31.

The 200 Meter Dash will be a smoker! The record of 23.46 should be broken with the field of Cleo Tyson-23.39; Ashley Owens-23.42; Krystin Lacy-23.45; Jessica Onyepunuka-23.60; Gyaisha Hall-23.80; Brandi Cross-Thrugood Marshall High School-Texas-23.80 and Rachel Foster.

Catch These Out-Of-Town Athletes

In the 100 Meter Dash the following athletes should contend Carol Thomas, Dallas Skyline-11.78; Dominique Malloy 9 th from Pahrump, Nevada; Jvavonne Pope Jr. Of Oklahoma-11.70.

In the 200 Meter Dash Tiffany Sloan of Texas will be chased by others with her time of 23.80. Jvavonne Pope Jr. with 24.40 and Hawley Kunz of Utah with 24.83 will be chasing.

In the 400 Meter Dash with 4 athletes under 54.80 this will be a great race with Katie Baker of Texas-53.48; Brandi Cross of Houston-53.79; Brooklyn Morris of Houston 54.80 Valencia Wilson of Nevada-54.23.

The 800 Meters features Staci Slight of Cody Slight with a time of 2:12.56. Others under 2:16.0-Whitney Hardt-Arizona-Sofie Monroe-Colorado-Brittania Long and April Montgomery of Oklahoma; Whitney Hardt of Arizona and Jasmine Dalton of Texas.

Leader in the 1600 Meter Run is Heather Adams of Ft. Worth-4:58.0.

The 100 Meter Hurdles will be outstanding with 5 athletes under 13.90. Defending Champion Alandra Sherman of Texas-13.58 will be challenged by Shanita Moss of Florida-13.53-April Williams of Dallas-13.89-Kira Robinson of Colorado-13.86 and Daniel Gilchrist of Oklahoma-13.80.

In the 300 Meter Hurdles with three of the top hurdlers in the country this will be a hot race. Alandra Sherman defending champions-Shanita Moss of Florida-41.90-Shalina Clark of Evanston, Illinois-41.56.

In the High Jump with 6 jumpers over 5'10" this should be great competition, with 6-footers Inika McPherson and Epley Bullock of Texas and Lauren Stewart TN leading the way.

In the Long Jump with Erica McLain of Plano East with a jump of 20'4" and Shaquanie Lundy of Denver 19'5" should be great competetion.

In the Shot Put, Sara Stevens, leads all throwers with 50'4". In the Discus, Sara Stevens the leader with a throw of 174'0" will be challenged by D’Andre Carter of Dallas-160'6". The Triple Jump, we might see a national record set by Erica McLain with a best of 44'71/2". In the Pole Vault there are 5 vaulters over 12'0" with Anne Phillips of Texas leading with 12'8".

In the 400 Meter Relay, the potential to set a new national record is possible with Dallas Skyline team of Carol Thomas, Krystin Lacy, Chanell Curry and Shatena Taylor-44.60 will be challenged by a all star team of Rachel Foster, Ashley Owens, Cleo Tyson, and Gayshia Hall.

In the 4X400 Meter Relay the Dallas Skyline team of Chanelle Curry, Krystin Lacy, Shatara Taylor and Ashley Harvey will be challenged by the All Star team of Brandi Cross, Katie Baker, Brooklyn Morris and Candice Baker.

Look Out For the New Mexico Locals

Michelle Nelson, Valley Senior, 5A State Champ in Shot Put and Discus (44'10" and 141'11")

Sandy Fortner, Ft. Sumner Junior, State Camp in 300 Hurdles (44.85-Class A record), in Class AA High Jump record of 5'6.25", and 18'1" Long Jump record in Class AA.

Micaiah Redden, Moriarty Senior, State Champ in 100 Hurdles and High Jump. Her bests in these events established State Records of 14.60 and 5'7".

Kristain Hemphill of Los Alamos, a junior 10 time State Champ in 800, 1600, 3200 and Cross Country. Best of 11:26.0 in 3200, 5:08 in 1600 and 2:18 in 800.

Ariel Emig, Academy Junior, 4A 1600 Champ at 5:07.

Tressie Richardson, Cibola Junior, 5A 100 Meter Champ with a best of 12:09.

Carmen Noel-Hill, Los Alamos Senior, 4A Pole Vault Champ and record holder of 11'6"
