- Decathlon HJ - Tom Pappas 6-10.25
was second in the high jump to move into second place with 3616 points
after four events. Dmitry Karpov KAZ 6-11.5 was first in the high jump
and first overall with 3657 points. USA's Bryan Clay, the previous leader,
slipped to third with 3529 points.
- W-5000 prelim - Lauren Fleshman ran
a personal best 15:12.71 but was 11th and out.
