The Hill - Boys

The key to the race was The Hill, which is traversed twice in the double loop figure 8 course. For some, like Chris Solinsky, it was the key to success. For others, it was their downfall. Bob Kennedy talked about The Hill in his remembrance of his two visits to Balboa Park (1986-1987). The runners talked about The Hill after the course walk and run throughs on Friday. They talked about The Hill again after the race.

Here is what The Hill looked like on race day - photos by Doug Speck.
