It really is hit or miss with weather in the Northeast in the spring.  The last two weekends turned out to be great for track and field, but with rain and clouds in the forecast for the weekend and into early next week, athletes and teams scrambled for shelter and the proper clothing.

But it really is business as usual at the 39th annual Glenn D. Loucks Games at White Plains HS in Westchester County, NY, as more often than not it seems to rain at this meet.  Meet officials and veteran coaches pretty much assume they’ll be wet at least on one of the three days, but that never stops them from showing up.  White Plains is just a short drive from NYC or a quick train ride on the commuter rails.

After the 2005 meet was affected by scheduling problems that saw two large local meets choose the same weekend as well as the sanctioning issues that plagued all major meets last year, the meet seems to be back to it’s usual self this year.  218 teams are registered as well as over 1500 athletes.
