The Jumps

Pole Vault

It was a day for raising personal bests in the pole vault.

1st Kathryn Pettine-SR-Westfield-Kathryn PR'D to win at 11-04
1st Brian Webb-SR-Great Bridge-PR'D to win at 15-04. Here, Brian is with his parents Dad, Phil and Mom, Judy.
After jumping 12' in the regionals, Rhian Jenks came in 2nd at 11-00. She tried for 11'3 after running the hurdles but it just didn't work out. With her is

High Jump

Whitney Murrer-SO-Mills Godwin (l) 3rd and Ashley Haislip-SO Lake Braddock 1st. Ashley, Whitney and Yvette Lewis who was 2nd jumped 5-04.

Shot Put

Steve Huntzinger with Dad, Sister, Ann and Mom, Judy. Steve won the Shot Put with a throw of 60-08.75. A senior, Steve leads the country in the Shot.

Can it be? Is Ann really holding Steve? You bet. Ann, who is a sophomore, seems to be getting ready for the discus in the spring by carrying Steve around. Now that's a sister to be nice to. In addition to carrying Steve and the discus, she is a cheerleader in the fall.
