The Meet

The Montana State Cross Country 2002 state championships were held at the Bill Roberts Golf Course in Helena, Montana. What a great place to watch cross country. The course is a typical golf course course but it has a nice high hill in the center that provides viewing for most of the race. Fans are elevated and able to see, cheer and get excited.

This was one of the best attended meets I have seen. A good percentage of the relatively small state population must have been here. Yet, it wasn't crowded. People were friendly, enthusiastic, excited and were having fun cheering from the sidelines. I saw people on crutches and in wheelchairs; young children, older supporters--cross-country is important here too.

Now onto the meet!

There goes Zoe!
