This was a terrific battle between two top-10 nationally ranked teams, US#3 Sultana CA and US#8 Snohomish WA, with Shelby Leland becoming the second Ukiah CA runner (Amber Trotter 2001) to win this race.

Sultana (aqua and white) and Snohomish (white, black and red) kept close to each other the entire race.

Shelby Leland reigned in solitary splendor above the fray. She called it "a good training run" and said she loved the course, which others were calling the toughest course they ever ran..

Sultana lived up to its higher ranking, but barely, 48-52, so every member of the team was important.	3rd, Danielle Varela	8th, Kelsey Delagardelle

Snohomish had the tighter pack, but couldn't quite overcome higher finishes by Sultana's 1st, 3rd, and 4th runners.
