Semifinals
First Two Plus Next Two Fastest Qualify for Final
Devon Smith (Westlake, Waldorf, Md.), the national leader at 55 meters, got a rocket start in heat one to win easily in 6.67 just .02 off his nation-leading 60-meter mark. Bradley Sylve (South Plaquemines, Sulpher, La.) was second at 6.88 and Romarr Mayne (Reading, Pa.) was third in 6.93. Torrance Hunt (Jordan, Durham, N.C.) was a clear winner in heat two with a 6.70 for the third fastest time in the nation. Earl House (Bethel, Hampton, Va.) pulled away from Ayo Isijola (Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, N.Y.) in the final 15 meters, 6.84 to 6.91, but both advanced. Dentarius Locke (Chamberlain, Tampa, Fl.) held a small lead over DeVaughn Benion (Danville, Va.) the entire way, 6.79 to 6.88, to move into sixth on the national list. Miles Lewis (Middle Country, Centereach, N.Y.) was a time qualifier in third at 6.91.
Final
Devon Smith (Westlake, Waldorf, Md.), again blasted out of the blocks and had a clear lead at 20 meters before increasing his winning margin over the final 20 meters, clocking a nation-leading 6.63 to equal third performer all-time, with equal the fourth fastest performance of all time. Torrance Hunt (Jordan, Durham, N.C.) was a clear second, in at 6.72. Dentarius Locke (Chamberlain, Tampa, Fl.) just edged Earl House (Bethel, Hampton , Va.) for third, 6.81 to 6.83.

Semifinals
First Two Plus Next Two Fastest Qualify for Final
Ashley Collier (Dunbar, Fort Worth, Tx.) pulled away from Myasia Jacobs (Paramus Catholic, Paramus, N.J.) in the last 15 meters for the heat 1 win, 7.48 to 7.54. Keilah Tyson (Smith, Chesapeake, Va.) was a time qualifier in third at 7.60. In heat two, Chalonda Goodman (Newnan, Ga.), who ranks No. 2 in the nation at 7.34, ran 7.39 but was pushed by Aurieyall (Roosevelt, Greenbelt, Md.), who ran 7.46 to equal the fourth fastest time in the nation. Freshman Shakeela Saunders (Great Bridge, Chesapeake, Va.) was third at 6.67. Breanna Hubbard (Mundys Mill, Jonesboro, Ga.) took the early lead but was passed by Dominique Booker (Immaculate Conception, Montclair, N.J.) at 40 meters and Booker went on to win, 7.49 to 7.54. Booker, the national leader at 55 meters, ranks No. 6 in the nation. Veronica Jones (DeSoto, Tx.) was a time qualifier in third at 7.65.
Final
In a match-up of three of the best sprinters in the nation, Ashley Collier (Dunbar, Fort Worth, Tx.) and Dominique Booker (Immaculate Conception, Montclair, N.J.) got out well, with Chalonda Goodman, who was between the two, in third at best. Goodman gathered herself in the second half of the race to catch the two leaders just before the finish to win in 7.42. Booker was second at 7.47, Aurieyall Scott (Roosevelt, Greenbelt, Md.) was third at 7.49. Collier, who stumbled as she approached the finish line, was fourth in 7.57. Booker and Collier now rank No. 5 and 6 on the yearly list.
