Mumford is making a big splash
this year, and a big reason is the tall, smooth striding
sprinter and hurdler Kenneth Ferguson. To get known, you
have to travel. Last Saturday, Mumford travelled down Interstate
75 to Lexington KY for the University of Kentucky HS Invitational
and came back with four victories. Ferguson was in on three
of them: 60 meter hurdles, 400 meters, and 4x400.
In the hurdles, Ferguson rang
up the best time in the US this season, 7.75, beating another
hot pair of runners in US#2 Mike Loyd of North Carolina
and Jason Hodges of Ohio. In the 400, Ferguson won by more
than a second in 47.72, second best in the US so far this
season.
