The two races include 35 state champs from 2002 and a total of
23 states are represented.
Hill said the girls race will be the deepest in the history of
high school running and the winner may be the best team ever. He
added that the boys team is the deepest in our four years and the
most balanced. "Any one of 15 teams could win," Hill said.
"An incredible battle is shaping up in the 4th, 5th and 6th
man positions. Places 50 to 75 will be the most competitive battle
in high school sports. I would not be surprised to see all of those
spots close to 16:15 and all within 15 seconds of each other."
Hill and his staff are working on the rest of the fields. He projects
over 200 schools from around 40 states, 450+ teams and 4000+ runners.
Ryan Deak, Bobby Curtis, and Chris Solinsky are all confirmed entries.
